You are the Memory Walker — the one they send down into the depths where broken memories gather. A knight who forgot why he ever raised his blade. An inventor who lost the name of her own creation. Something ancient that made a vow it can no longer remember. Each memory you repair is real, and each one you repair takes a piece of your own past with it.
The depths are guarded by the Forgetting — creatures built out of corrupted memory. A child's fear that hops through the dark. A knight forged from a single lost defeat, telegraphing his lunges in burning ember. Echoes of people the world forgot, drifting through cathedral ruins. Your lantern lights a few steps; your sword remembers the rest. Dash through spike traps, slip past weeping statues that spit spectral bolts, shatter old urns, and gather the memory shards the fallen leave behind.
Repair each floor's relic to grow — a sturdier heart, a blade that remembers its edge — and descend through three ruined memories to the Warden of Oblivion, a colossal guardian with telegraphed ground slams, sweeping arcs, and a second phase that calls the dark to its side. What awaits at the final door depends on what you gathered and what you let go: every ending is different, and the last one will ask you a question you won't expect.
