Nine minutes of showtime. Three impossible bosses. One inkwell hero.
Rubberhose Ruckus is a boss-rush shooter with no filler between the fights. Pick a name off the marquee, step onto the stage, and go straight into a hand-inked 1930s cartoon showdown — three escalating phases, no checkpoints, no mercy.
Every character in the game is drawn line-by-line as you play. Nobody is a flat picture: limbs bend like rubber hoses, outlines shiver on a twelve-frames-a-second boil, bodies squash and stretch into every landing and every hit. The result looks like a scratchy old cartoon reel that somehow fights back.
Run, leap, dash through danger, and shoot in eight directions while a jazz band plays you toward your own funeral. Snap a mid-air parry on anything glowing pink and you'll charge the super meter — five cards buys you a screen-clearing showstopper. Three weapons, three hit points, and a boss that changes the rules every time you knock a phase out of it.
Beat all three on Regular, then come back for Expert, where they attack faster, denser, and without the courtesy of a long telegraph.
